An Unfortunate Downside

Sadly, there was another side to this lifestyle we didn’t plan for: emotional fallout.

When a date is set and missed, or a connection is broken, there’s almost always a consequence. We learned that firsthand over the course of one difficult night.

The second date was planned. This time, it would be at his home, somewhere more private, more intimate than the theater was. She spent the evening getting ready: hair done, makeup perfect, clothes chosen with care. A true dress-to-impress effort.

And then she waited.

She waited for a text that never came.

“I’m home, come over. Address ###.”

That message never arrived.

In fact, no message came at all. Not until the next morning, when an apology appeared with an excuse about a long day’s work and falling asleep.

Needless to say, it hurt her.

She had never been stood up like that before. Never left waiting, emotionally and physically prepared, only to feel dismissed. The anticipation turned into rejection. Tears were shed, and the night took a sharp turn. What had been desire and excitement shifted into pain and sadness.

I did what little I could to support her, but honestly… my consolation fell short. I was angry. Angry that she was hurt. That his thoughtlessness that had caused her pain. Angry that I couldn’t fix it. And ultimately, beneath that anger was guilt.

These were his actions, yes.

But the situation existed because of my fantasy. My desire for her to explore. For her to have these experiences and adventures.

For that moment, I felt bad for ever asking her to be a Hotwife.

The next morning, after his apology, my wife and I talked—about our dynamic, about how we wanted to move forward, and about what this experience had taught us.

Her desire was there, despite the negative experience, she still wanted to pursue this lifestyle. The manner might be different, but the goal stays the same. She will create solid plans far head of time to avoid waiting and have a backup plan and seek people she can truly trust.

But not only that, she still wanted him. Despite the disappearance and missed plan, she still likes him. More than a hot guy to have fun with, but as a man she wants to be around, to be desired by, and share intimacy with.

A crucial lesson was learned, but also an important realization.

many thirds, bulls, and casual prospects are flaky and unreliable. Those just out for sex are not the men who deserve my wife.

She has far too much to offer and is far too precious to waste on people like those. She deserves a caring husband who loves and supports her completely. And she deserves boyfriends, real connections, who treat her with care. All while sharing intimate adventures that help her fully express and fulfill her desires.

That’s what we’re looking for, real connections that bring her fulfillment.

Yes, emotional risks will always exist in this lifestyle.

Disappointment and loss may still happen. But I truly believe the positives, for her and for our relationship, far outweigh those inevitable downsides.
